10th century Viking Varangian Rus Slav Gnezdovo Helmet 16 gauge

Notre reproduction est FABRIQUÉE À LA MAIN en acier doux de 1.6mm, doublée d'une doublure en cuir confortable et sûre et d'une queue de maille rivetée. Sa circonférence approximative de 68 cm (sans doublure) lui permet de s'adapter à presque toutes les tailles de tête (65 cm avec doublure). Une lanière en cuir et une boucle de fermeture en laiton la maintiennent en place pendant tous les combats. Sa hauteur est d'environ 25,5 cm avec une base de 24,5 × 21 cm. Son poids est d'environ 4 kg (12 grammes). Remarque : Ce produit est soigneusement enduit d'une couche d'huile lors de son emballage, qui agit comme une couche protectrice temporaire contre la corrosion (rouille). Cette couche peut être facilement essuyée avec un dégraissant ou même un chiffon sec. Notre reproduction est directement inspirée d'un original découvert dans une colonie slave-varègue du Xe siècle nommée Gnezdovo ou Gnyozdovo, près de Smolensk, dans l'actuelle Russie. De nombreux objets scandinaves typiques ont été découverts en même temps que ce casque, ce qui en fait un excellent choix pour quiconque souhaite reconstituer un personnage viking, varègue, russe ou slave oriental. Cependant, ce casque pourrait ne pas convenir si vous représentez un Viking occidental attaquant l'Angleterre.

Our reproduction is HANDMADE from 16-gauge mild steel, lined with a comfortable and secure leather liner and a riveted mail aventail. An approximate circumference of 68 cm (without liner) allows it to fit almost all head sizes (65 cm with liner). A leather strap and brass buckle closure keep it secure through all battles. It has a height of about 25.5 cm with a (24.5×21) cm base. Weighs about 4 Kg 12 grams.

Note: This product is carefully coated with a layer of oil when packaged that acts as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust), which can easily be wiped off using any oil remover or even a dry cloth.

Our reproduction is directly inspired by an original found in a 10th-century Slavic-Varangian settlement named Gnezdovo or Gnyozdovo near Smolensk in modern-day Russia. Many typical Scandinavian artefacts have been found simultaneously with this helmet, making it a good choice for anyone wanting to reenact an eastern Viking / Varangian / Russ / Slav character. However, this helmet may not be suitable if you’re depicting a Western Viking raiding England.
