All the plates overlap each other allowing the brigandine to diffuse any impact on the torso of the fighter in an efficient way because every single plate that is struck by an impact actually overlaps on other plates which really allows the diffusion of any blow, and allows incredible mobility at the same time; even doing a high kick in that kind of brigandine is totally possible!
